SETTINGS
The outside settings, noticeable from the trees and blue sky, could possibly be a garden of some sort. This creates a calming and peaceful vibe for the audience, as it’s sunny and ‘happy’.
CHARACTERS
The singer, Lana Del Rey, is looking slightly down towards the camera as well as being in a ‘majestic’ pose. This could’ve been purposely done to represent the singer as powerful and may be even over-powering.
In addition to this, she has been perfectly styled; her hair has no stray bits and her make-up is perfectly done. As well as this, the image has been photoshopped, which again, has purposely been done to make her look like the ‘perfect’ woman. We don’t know if the photographer was trying to make Lana look like a role model for the audience, but that’s the way it could be taken.
ICONOGRAPHY
Many of Lana Del Rey’s album and single covers feature some form of flower or nature object. So the outdoor scenery shown on the front cover of the album and advert could be seen as stereotypical imagery or iconic of the artist.
TECHNICAL
The lighting is made to look natural and realistic, but in my own personal opinion, I think it’s artificial as the light is perfectly placed about the artist and creating unrealistic shadows upon her face.
