CHARACTERS
The artists are only seen within the digipak itself (insert and inside). They are seen with dark or monochrome clothing on; however, it is hard to distinguish whether the clothes are actually black and white as the whole album is also in black and white. The band is stereotyped in terms of image when it comes to the rock genre. They are posed with long or messy hair and stereotypical rock clothing e.g. leather and jackets. This then tells the audience what type of music the make. Other than the main band, there is an unknown woman on the front cover holding the title of the band and album. As she isn’t revealed, we can’t make out who she is and what relates her to the album, which could be sending out a message. We can only interpret that this figure is a woman due to the necklace and nail varnish shown.

SETTING
The black and white effect that they have used throughout the album is stereotypical for a rock band as many use it. As well as this, the font on the front cover has been used throughout the album so that it is easier for the viewers to read. In addition to this, the lyrics on the insert are in the style of a police description which again, follows the theme.

STYLE
The album uses a narrative that follows a police/jail theme with various different elements such as fingerprints, the use of LAPD etc. This could suggest that the album is heavy rock due to the ‘bad’ or negative side of it which can sometimes link with the rock genre anyway.

ICONOGRAPHY
The way they have used the bands image inside of the album rather than on the cover suggests that their album designer believes they are a ‘big enough’ band to just have the name on the front to sell the album. In addition to this, the photo of the band is very stereotypical. The singer is placed in the front/middle, then the other members surrounding him.

TECHNICAL
The technical elements of the album are mainly through the camera angles in he photos. For example, the photo has been taken straight on in front of them as they look at the camera; they then create direct eye contact with the viewers which could potentially influence people to into buying it as they are connecting with the audience. The lighting however, is very low key apart from when on the face.
